The Benefits of Slots Gaming
Texas has long been debating the world of slots gambling. It seems like public perception is well on its way to acceptance though. In the past, games have been denied by the residents of the state and that seems to be changing. Slowly people are coming around and realizing the power that slots games have for their economies. A recent informal study showed that about 75% of taxpayers are not opposed to the games. They believe that bringing in slots would do one of two things:
• It would increase jobs. Increasing jobs in any market is a highly attractive result of change. Remember that the market is still not all that far away from the recession and that means that there are still millions of Americans without jobs. The problem is that there are not enough positions to go around. If slots parlors can create a natural job market in various areas, locals are more than happy to support their creation.
• It would increase revenue. The biggest change that slots parlors bring is a huge surge in tax revenue dollars for the states they are in. This tax revenue does one of two things- it eases taxpayer responsibility and it funds various programs that the state is embarking on. A lot of public programs are either on hold right now or have been completely eliminated from the agenda. With the added money from a good slots parlor those items could be revived.
Texas officials are also on the same side. They are more readily supporting using slots gambling. A City Council meeting has approved slots gambling and now that petition has to go to the Texas government for approval. The group “Win for Texas” has been holding various studies to get a handle on how the state is swayed towards the issue. They are confirming that slots gambling most likely will be incorporated into the market soon. The estimate right now is that if Texas approves gambling it could bring in well over $2-billion in revenue. That would be a huge amount and most likely legislators are not going to deny that much money—especially when there are few other options that could even come close.
