Setting All the Necessary Limits In Slots Gaming- Part 2

    Saturday, January 15th, 2011

You also want to set your blind pull limit. This is how many spins of the reels you are going to take on one machine before you leave. A good rule of thumb is to set this rule at ten to fifteen– depending on your bankroll and love of the game. If you absolutely love the game and it fits into your bankroll limit you can take a few extra spins as long as you don’t go over your fifteen-limit. You also want to set the loss limit. This is how much you are going to lose on any one game before you move on to the next slots game. This is in line with your bankroll limit so take your cues from that. For example, if you have a total of $500 to wager with and are staying at the casino for two and a half hours, then you have just $200 per hour to wager. Make sure you set your loss limit in line with this number.

The next thing you want to do when wagering is set some other limits. One important, but seldom talked about one, is the limit of drinks you are going to accept. As long as you are wagering at a casino they are going to bring you alcoholic drinks free. What better person to take advatnage of them than the gamers who are sitting stationary at the slots games, engrossed by their wins? Waitresses and waiters are more than happy to do their jobs and continue bringing you drinks as you wager. There is a problem though. As you drink, you start losing important judgements. You may turn your back on a bankroll and start wagering well over your limit. You may keep playing at a game that you should have left hours ago. You may keep on putting big-dollar money into games in the hopes for a great win. It is easy to overboard without alcohol, and that much easier to go way overboard with it. Be sure that you know your own limits and then stick to them. The casino isn’t going to help you here– they want you to wager as much as possible and are ready to do whatever is necessary to keep you active. You have to be the vigilant one with your own money whenever you go to a slots parlor.

Setting a Good Slots Strategy- Part 1

    Thursday, January 13th, 2011

There are a lot of resources out there that call themselves a “slots strategy.” This really isn’t accurate due to the nature of slots gaming. Slots are luck-based games and luck has no strategy to it. You aren’t going to find one way to do things with slots that is going to bring you a better chance of winning. The best you can do is manage your own gaming session. It would be more accurate to call a “slots strategy” a “gaming strategy” and leave it at that. Because the games are based on luck, there is no such thing as making the right moves to do better. The set up is simple—you put in your money, spin the reels, wait for the combinations and then see what, if anything, you won. If you did win the game pays out your coins and if you didn’t then you keep on wagering. Still, there are some things you can do to manage your own bankroll and gaming session that would benefit you. First of all, you want to make sure you set a strict bankroll. There is a lot written about this—building a strict bankroll is the key to not going overboard with your gaming session. You want to make sure this amount is the amount you can reasonably afford to lose. You have to remember that gambling is just that—a gamble. It would be nice if you won the big payout at the casino but it is highly unlikely. Make sure that you understand that you should expect to lose your entire bankroll when wagering.

Next, you also want to make sure you set a loss limit at the games. This is how much you are going to lose on any one game when you leave to move to another one. For example, you could set a loss limit at $15. This means that when you wager $15 on any one game without getting a win, you move to another game. This is helpful because it assures that you are not going to be losing too much on any one game. This is especially helpful if you have a smaller bankroll and want to make it stretch far and get as many games into play as possible.

    Part two coming next.

Slots Rotation on the Casino Floor

    Monday, December 27th, 2010

In the world of slots gaming there are a lot of changes. More and more developers are focusing on bringing new slot games to the market. It is obvious how lucrative the games are. They are coming together to create a huge market and a money making heaven for gaming centers that use them. So how are machines moved around on the floor? First of all, most casinos group the machines. For example, if you want to find the penny machines, they most likely are going to be grouped together on one side of the casino and clearly marked. You can see what games you want in similar corrals. You are also going to find nickel-games grouped together, and dollar-games, etc. It is an easy way for you to always find what you want in terms of bankroll limits. Secondly, a casino may showcase its special promotional games in one way or another. You may see a game with extra lights buzzing and sounds whirling around it. This could be to draw attention to a particular progressive or bigger payout game. It could be a special prize attached to the game that the casino is showcasing too.

Thirdly, the casino you work with is going to move games around. The reason is because it is a great way to make a casino ‘look’ like it’s undergone a makeover. It costs the casino nothing than the man hours to move the machines. This is a great way to make things seem more exciting. You may even find casinos that showcase a “new revamped casino floor” and upon further investigation you find that all they did was move around the machines and create a few additional promotions. It isn’t “cheating” but it is skimping on the new offerings. Finally, if you have a few games that are your favorite, mention it to the casino now and again. If the game is a high performer, most likely it won’t be in danger of being eliminated. If it isn’t, then your mentioning it is all the more necessary if you want it to remain on the casino floor over time.

Ontario Planning on Slots Initiative by 2012

    Friday, November 5th, 2010

Ontario is a province that is focused on building some type of online gambling initiative. It is no secret that gambling is a huge revenue generator. Legislators all over are hoping to capitalize on the activity in their areas to fund various public works programs. Since the recession, many governments have had to find creative ways of bringing in money. No longer are people spending like they once did and it means that the money that was fueling the economy is no longer there. Now that the recession is over, legislators were hoping things would return to normal quickly. Unfortunately, that is now what happened. The recovery is taking much longer to deal with than anticipated and that is creating a difficult market for all countries around the world. Canada is just another one positioning itself as a gambling center and taking advantage of the dollars that gambling brings in. Ontario is the latest province to make the move for regulating gambling. They are instituting a plan for online gaming, casino games and table games. The combination of all three could mean a great revenue stream for the government if residents are interested in playing. Most likely they are—gambling is something that Canadians have been pining for now for at least a few years.

The Ontario Finance Minister Dwight Duncan announced recently that the government is allotting the next eighteen months as a time to work on a viable system for the gaming community. In the country there are some issues that need the proper legislation to manage and this is what the next few months are going to allow for. It is expected that the official gambling play will enter the market in 2012. This is the target time for gamers to be able to wager. Part of the biggest problem with gambling in the market is the legislation that protects people, but also allows the government to capitalize on the lucrative nature of the games. It will take some time, but Ontario may be well on its way to bringing gambling into its own market and benefiting from it in the year of 2012.

Casinos Use Marketing for Edge- Part 2

    Sunday, October 31st, 2010

Now that casinos are focused on the small changes they can make to bring in greater numbers, they are seeing some improvements. The numbers are getting bigger slowly and steadily. As gaming companies put more into marketing, they are being equally as intent with research. One of the keys to building up new markets is to find out what actually draws people to a business’s product or service. A casino operator is going to look at questions on games. Do people prefer the 3-, 5- or 7-reel games? Which ones do the play the most? Which ones bring in the biggest overall amount of revenue? Which themes of slots games bring in the most money? What promotions work? Which promotions don’t? Are gamers playing for big wins? Are players gaming for pastimes? These are all important questions because they are telling of what is going to work with the market. For example, if a casino finds out that 5-reel games are the most popular, they can put more money into bringing those in. On the other hand if they find out that 3-reel games make a good showing at first, but quickly lose steam with revenue, they can introduce them but then build promotions to keep them generating cash.

In any business gaining information on the product is key to building growth. One generation of a product is just the beginning. Consider how many new configurations of software come into the market. Microsoft alone has introduced a succession of products over the years. Each one does the same basic thing, but as time goes on the software does it better than previous versions. Overall market research is what sets one company apart from another and it may be what helps more than a few gaming companies survive. This is the research that is going to make better gaming for the public. If you want to see what markets are headed towards, just look to the top casinos out there. They are the ones that through research and development are setting the standard of gambling. Expect casinos to continue their edges and wanting to build gaming that is better and better. They know that they have a billion-dollar market and want to capitalize on it as best they can.

Plan Your Strategy Before You Sign Into a Casino

    Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

There are many different strategies in the world of gaming. When playing slots some people believe that you should refuse all of your wins and keep fueling your money back into the game. They believe that if you do, you are inevitably going to have a bigger return in the end. The honest truth about this is that putting any winnings you get back into gambling is always risky. Yes—you could turn things around and suddenly win it all back, but it is highly unlikely. Studies have shown that the more you wager, the more you lose. Period. It isn’t a sure thing that you are going to turn things around on the next spin of the reels. In fact, players who believe that they are going to win with “just one more spin” are those who usually lose the most. Having this type of attitude is what pushes players well beyond their limits of losing money. It’s a dangerous strategy to have and unless you have the bankroll to support it, it’s best to stick to more conservative betting strategies.

It isn’t hard to keep track of your money when you are winning. Every time you win a pot, put a portion of it aside. Commit yourself to always saving some part. For example, some players play and keep ten percent of whatever they earn set aside. This way if they start losing, they still have some money left over. It’s a good strategy to increase your chances of walking away with money at the end of your gaming session. Overall you have to be smart. Remember that this is your hard-earned cash that you are wagering and keeping track of it is what is going to not only affect your session, but affect your mindset. If you need losing and keep putting more and more money into the machine, you are going to walk away with nothing. Protect yourself from that happening by being wise with your money during playing. It’s easy to get caught up in a good slots gaming session so do some planning beforehand, watch your bankroll and then have fun.
