Maryland Looking for Another Slots Parlor by Late 2011
Thursday, January 13th, 2011Maryland is still on a slot machine high and showing no signs of slowing down. Anyone who has been watching the market knows that they recently approved a slots parlor in Perryville. The parlor was Hollywood Casino and it opened to moderate reviews, but top-dollars this past November. The slots parlor offered over 1,500 slots games to enjoy. One of the novelties of the games are that they are “coinless”. This means that as you wager on them, you have to play games with tickets. The tickets have values to them and you get to cash in those tickets when you are done wagering. This is a great system that eliminates the need to carry money from one location to another. It stops you from having to walk around with quarters that can be bulky and heavy. This is one of the signs of how gaming today is becoming more convenient for the gamer. Casinos want to build better options for gamers because it allows them to keep on wagering at their convenience without breaking their bank accounts. Now that this is a success though, Maryland is taking on a new project of gaming.
This time the state is considering building another slots parlor. This one is an aggressive plan for gaming to start in the coming year. Construction will begin within the next few weeks and likely should be completed by the end of 2011. This is a time when gaming companies are going to know push for as much gaming as they possibly can and bring in the amount of casinos they deem needed to maximize revenues. The recession’s aftermath is still alive with gaming companies. They know that the dollars aren’t as stable as they once were because people are still being careful with money. They know that they need to keep on getting them to wager creatively. This is where new slots parlors come in. Slots are affordable and gamblers know this. If a state can bring in a few slots parlors they can bring in that much more activity with customers who love to wager on them. Bringing in a new state-of-the-art facility is almost an assurance that a state can increase their income.
