Software Developer Orbis Sorely Lacking
The latest online slots survey’s results are out. It’s not a great topic, but in the world of competitive slots, there is always going to be a list of leading game software providers, and number one loser in the market. There are tons of companies that are outstanding and with the competitive nature of the world, developers and programmers are working overtime to push the limits of gaming capabilities. Unfortunately there is always that one developer that has not stood the test of time and is lagging behind.
The developer that is gaining notoriety for being the worst software developer is Orbis. Orbis is a company that basically replicates one type of slot over and over. It’s clear to see how they did their initial work. They most likely did some market research and found out what slots players enjoy—bonuses, free games, free spins and good graphics. Some programmers did some developing and came up with a good base game. The mistake with this company is that then they used that one base game as the model for every game they offer. It was almost like they look at the varying themes as “skins”, but the actual game is exactly the same.
For example, if you do manage to get the free spins, they come with a multiplier of 1x. If you get more than 5x your bet, you have reached an outstanding payout. And that’s pretty much all the fun you are going to find at an Orbis game. A very standard payout and multiplier and that’s about it.
It wouldn’t be so bad for the company if the market was not so saturated with outstanding development companies. That’s the issue here. If it were, say ten years ago and Orbis was releasing their slots, they may have had a chance of making a name for themselves. Think of the Commodore 64 of 1986 in the world of home computers! At the time, they were interesting to have, but the market soon expanded and made them completely outdated and useless. That’s how Orbis is in the gaming market. The problem is that the market is expanding so quickly that without some serious rethinking of their value proposition, the company may not be around for much longer. Just like buying the Commodore 64 is not even an option for people looking to buy a home computer, Orbis may be pushed aside in the slots market and made completely irrelevant.
