    Progressive Slot Machines- Part 1

As a slot player how many times have you walked into a casino and imagined hitting the big one? You know the one that could change your life forever? At least a time or two right? The sad truth is, you have more of a chance of getting hit by lighting than hitting that life changing jackpot on the slot machine, but hey, it is still fun trying. The odds of hitting a big jackpot is astronomical, but not a reason to not try, after all people do win, or people wouldn’t continue to play. As long as players maintain a reality check about the progressive slot machines, there are no illusions to the truth of the odds. Some slot machines are better than others, so doing a tad bit of research on them, might improve your chances, if anything, it cannot hurt them.

A real big progressive jackpot cannot get big without players. Progressive jackpots grow because of players. The progressive jackpot is made by taking a percentage of all the money put into the slot machine, which means the jackpot continues to grow until somebody hits it, and then when it is hit it starts all over again. When you see a progressive jackpot at a low number that can pretty much tell you someone has recently won which means people do win. Players need to know not all progressive jackpot machines are the same though. There are three different kinds of progressive machines. There is the separate or “stand alone” type of machine which is not networked to other slot machines, and rather than having a fixed big payout this machine offers a predetermined percentage of the wager played and puts it together with the award for the highest lucky combination. There is a gauge on the top that tells you what the jackpot is. The stand alone or single progressive slots pay out much less than those that are coupled together. The In House progressive machines are the ones linked together and owned and operated by the casino. The casino may be a single one or one that is associated together with numerous others if the gaming company operates more than just one casino. These progressive jackpots might not be in the millions, however, they can though be quite big as for as the jackpot size. This type of progressive slot machines hits more often than the large geographic area progressives.
